Melanie Atkinson
BSc(Hons), D.Pod.M Chiropodist

Melanie graduated from the London Foot Hospital and School of Podiatry, U.K. in 1988. After working in England, looking for a new challenge, she came to Canada to teach at the Ontario Chiropody Program in Toronto. Enjoying her teaching contract at the Michener Institute, she continued to oversee Chiropody students on placements for several year after moving to the Ottawa area.

Always looking for professional self improvement, Melanie completed a Podiatric Research Degree from Brighton University, U.K., her thesis was published in The Journal Of American Podiatric Medical Association in 2000.

Melanie has worked in Hospitals, Diabetes Clinics, Community Health Centres and Private Practice in the Ottawa and North Grenville areas, acquiring a wide variety of experience. As a recipient of the Paul Harris Award, from Rotary International, Melanie was recognized for her years of dedicated volunteer work, setting up programs to reduce the rate of amputations due to diabetes in Caribbean countries.

In founding Body and Sole Foot Care Clinic, in 2011, her goal is to be accessible and available to help as many people as possible maintain mobility and quality of life in our community.

Melanie enjoys hiking, kayaking and other outdoor pursuits in her spare time.

 
 
 

Brian Woo
BSc.,D.Ch, Chiropodist

Body and Sole was fortunate to have Brian join our team in 2011 after completion of a post-graduate advanced diploma of health sciences in Chiropody at the Michener Institute in Toronto, Ontario, graduating with distinction.

During his internship at the Ottawa General Hospital, Brian chose to specialize in diabetic/neuropathic wound care as well as biomechanics and sports injury rehabilitation. An undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C. has given him extensive knowledge of sports injury rehabilitation. A caring personality and passion for reaching out to the less fortunate had lead him to his volunteer work with in a mobile health team in small villages of Nicaragua.

Outside of the office, Brian enjoys playing softball in summer and playing basketball in Winter. He also has passion in music and loves playing guitar and spending time with his wife and daughter.

 
 
 

Nancy Streight
Office Manager

Nancy has been with Body and Sole since 2013. Having worked in the legal field for many years and obtaining her Medical Office Administration diploma, she is a great asset to our team.

A familiar face to many North Grenville residents, Nancy was born and raised in the area. Greeting all visitors with a warm and welcoming smile, it is clear Nancy loves working with the public and sharing a laugh with our patients. In her spare time, she enjoys camping and kayaking.

 
 
 

Cathy Workman

Cathy joined the Body and Sole Team in 2018. Patients are greeted with a familiar face and smile when they enter the clinic. Cathy works part-time at the clinic. When she is not at the clinic, she can be found at her hair salon.

Cathy enjoys a good laugh and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

 
 
 

Lisa Ahlberg

Lisa began her career as a registered chiropodist in 2007 after studying at the Michener Institute in Toronto, and completing an internship at the Ottawa Rehab Centre. She has since returned to school as a part-time student at Athabasca University, and is currently working to complete a degree in health care administration.

After working in several different health care settings in different regions of Ontario, Lisa now calls Kemptville and Body and Sole her home. When not providing professional foot care or studying, Lisa enjoys gardening, playing board games, and various artistic endeavours.

 
 
 

Lindsy Havekes RPN
Registered Practical Nurse
Podortho® Nurse

Lindsy is a graduate of the Registered Practical Nursing program at the St Lawrence College, graduating in 2015. She is a member of The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), and The Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (WeRPN). Lindsy is also certified in perioperative nursing and a certified PSW. She started her career in geriatric care where she developed her nursing expertise while caring for Elderly, she then continued her career path in Primary Care working alongside a multidisciplinary team and providing integrative care to many patients in her community, as well as practicing in the operating room at a local hospital.

Lindsy is very passionate about the care she provides to her patients and the holistic approach to better every patient’s health and wellness. With previous experience with diabetic patients, Lindsy decided to pursue her career in Podortho Nursing where she obtained her post-graduate certificate in Advanced Medical Foot Care for Nurses. Realizing the serious impact of impaired foot and limb function has on one’s health and quality of life, Lindsy provides an encompassing, whole-patient care approach focused on patient education, preventive care and comprehensive treatment plans.

 
 
 

Elizabeth Kadziolka RPN
Advanced Foot Care Nurse

Elizabeth was raised in the small Northern community of Cochrane, Ontario. She graduated from her Practical Nursing Program in 1994, and began her Nursing career working in a Long Term Care facility in Timmins for 13 years.

After completing a Basic Foot Care Course, at George Brown College in Toronto, in 2007 and an Advanced Foot Care Course in 2008, Elizabeth provided nursing Foot Care to the patients of the East End Family Health Team. In 2009, Elizabeth joined the team of Chiropodists and Nurses at Rainville Foot Health in Timmins, and provided Advanced Nursing foot care skills in the office and out into the community for 13 years. Elizabeth moved to Kemptville and joined Body and Sole’s Foot Care Team in 2022.

Elizabeth is a member of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Registered Practical Nurses of Ontario (WeRPN) and CAFCN (Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses)

Her hobbies include camping, hiking, snowshoeing, nature photography and spending as much time with her 2 grandchildren as she can.

 
 
 

Brenda Giuseppin
Receptionist / Clinical Assistant

Brenda joined the Body and Sole Team in 2023. She is no stranger to working with the public or to North Grenville, having grown up in the area. We are pleased to have Brenda join us at the clinic, in a Receptionist/Clinical Assistant role.

Brenda has been a graphic designer for over 30 years and previously owned and operated a local sign design and manufacturing business.

Brenda’s creative passion is Portrait Photography. If she is not at Body and Sole greeting clients with a warm smile, she is behind a camera photographing families and creating memories.
