Melanie Atkinson

BSc(Hons), D.Pod.M Chiropodist
Melanie graduated from the London Foot Hospital and School of Podiatry, U.K. in 1988. After working in England, looking for a new challenge, she came to Canada to teach at the Ontario Chiropody Program in Toronto. Enjoying her teaching contract at the Michener Institute, she continued to oversee Chiropody students on placements for several year after moving to the Ottawa area.

Always looking for professional self improvement, Melanie completed a Podiatric Research Degree from Brighton University, U.K., her thesis was published in The Journal Of American Podiatric Medical Association in 2000.

Melanie has worked in Hospitals, Diabetes Clinics, Community Health Centres and Private Practice in the Ottawa and North Grenville areas, acquiring a wide variety of experience. As a recipient of the Paul Harris Award, from Rotary International, Melanie was recognized for her years of dedicated volunteer work, setting up programs to reduce the rate of amputations due to diabetes in Caribbean countries.

In founding Body and Sole Foot Care Clinic, in 2011, her goal is to be accessible and available to help as many people as possible maintain mobility and quality of life in our community.

Melanie enjoys hiking, kayaking and other outdoor pursuits in her spare time.

Brian Woo

BSc.,D.Ch,  Chiropodist

Body and Sole was fortunate to have Brian join our team in 2011 after completion of a post-graduate advanced diploma of health sciences in Chiropody at the Michener Institute in Toronto, Ontario, graduating with distinction.

During his internship at the Ottawa General Hospital, Brian chose to specialize in diabetic/neuropathic wound care as well as biomechanics and sports injury rehabilitation. An undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, B.C. has given him extensive knowledge of sports injury rehabilitation. A caring personality and passion for reaching out to the less fortunate had lead him to his volunteer work with in a mobile health team in small villages of Nicaragua.

Outside of the office, Brian enjoys playing softball in summer and playing basketball in Winter. He also has passion in music and loves playing guitar and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Judith Moore

CCPMA, Laser Therapist and Podiatry Assistant

Judith rounds out our services at Body and Sole, providing safe Medical Pedicures and Laser Therapy for relief of pain and inflammation. She is passionate about the healing results of the often misunderstood practice of Phototherapy – as well as Integrative Healing Methods and holistic modalities treating the body, mind and soul.

With Extensive education and experience in Phototherapy and Lasers and a being a graduate of Clinical Medical Podiatric Assistant’s  Program (Designated by the American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine), Judith has developed working protocols with a special interest in Podiatry issues. She has developed teaching programs for Phototherapy for other professionals as well as a new protocol for PhotoDynamic Therapy focusing on fungal toenails.

Judith encourages everyone to learn to become a healthcare advocate for themselves, to teach their children, family and friends the same and to build a strong healthcare team from the many compassionate healthcare practitioners in the area.

Nancy Streight

Office Manager

Nancy has been with Body and Sole since 2013. Having worked in the legal field for many years and obtaining her Medical Office Administration diploma, she is a great asset to our team. A familiar face to many North Grenville residents, Nancy was born and raised in the area. Greeting all visitors with a warm and welcoming smile, it is clear Nancy loves working with the public and sharing a laugh with our patients. In her spare time, she enjoys camping and kayaking.

Tina Armstrong

Tina joined the Body and Sole Team in 2015, providing a boost to our administrative resources. With her strong background in customer service, Tina enjoys the personal interaction with our patients and ensures the clinic runs smoothly.
Tina enjoys Knitting and Kayaking in her spare time and enjoying time with her family and dog.
